ScreenTime — Privacy Policy
Last updated: May 19, 2026
What ScreenTime Does
ScreenTime is a Chrome extension that lets you record your screen and upload recordings directly to your Google Drive.
Data Collection
ScreenTime does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data to any server. All data stays between your browser and your Google Drive account.
What we access:
- Screen/tab content — only while you are actively recording, and only the screen or tab you choose to share
- Microphone audio — only if you explicitly enable it before recording
- Google Drive — only to upload your recordings to a "ScreenTime" folder in your Drive and manage sharing permissions on those files
What we store locally:
- Recording history — a list of your recent recordings (file names, Drive links, timestamps) stored in Chrome's local storage on your device
- Settings — your quality preference and auto-share toggle, stored locally
- Google auth token — cached by Chrome's identity API for Drive access
What we do NOT do:
- We do not send any data to external servers (other than Google Drive via their official API)
- We do not track usage or analytics
- We do not collect personal information
- We do not access any Drive files other than those created by ScreenTime
- We do not record when the extension is not actively in use
Third-Party Services
The only third-party service used is Google Drive API to upload and share your recordings. This is governed by Google's Privacy Policy.
Data Deletion
All local data can be cleared by removing the ScreenTime extension from Chrome. Your recordings on Google Drive can be deleted directly from your Drive account.
